시코쿠 오헨로 순례길 (1,400km)

오헨로는 지금으로부터 약 1,200년 전에 홍법 대사(구카이)가 창시한 시코쿠 88개소 영지를 순례하는 세계에서도 유례없는 장대한 사찰순례 여행이다. 총 거리는 1,400킬로에 이르며, 힘들고 어려운 수행의 이미지가 있다. 최근에는 자기 자신을 되돌아보는 혼자만의 여행이나, 건강증진, 아웃도어 레저 등 본래의 종교적인 목적 등으로 많이 찾고 있으며, 누구나가 한 번은 가보고 싶은 영지로 더욱더 주목을 받고 있다.

The Shikoku Pilgrimage is a multi-site pilgrimage of 88 temples associated with the Buddhist monk Kūkai on the island of Shikoku, Japan. A popular and distinctive feature of the island's cultural landscape, and with a long history, large numbers of pilgrims, known as henro, still undertake the journey for a variety of ascetic, pious, and tourism-related purposes.
