헤이안 신궁

헤이안신궁은 1895년 헤이안쿄 천도 1100년을 기념하여 붉게 칠한 문과 신전이 인상적인 신궁이다. 헤이안교로 도읍을 옮긴 간무천황과 수도가 도쿄에 되기 전의 마지막 천황인 고메이천황의 두 천황이 제신으로 모셔져 있다. 신전은 헤이안시대(794–1185) 천황이 살던 대궐의 정부부서인 조당원을 8분의 5규모로 재현한 것. 응천문, 대극전 등이 헤이안쿄 당시 분위기를 남기고 있다.

Heian Shrine

The Heian Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Sakyō-ku, Kyoto, Japan. The Shrine is ranked as a Beppyō Jinja by the Association of Shinto Shrines. It is listed as an important cultural property of Japan. In 1895, a partial reproduction of the Heian Palace fromKyoto was planned for construction for the 1100th anniversary of the establishment of Heian-kyō.
