덴류지

텐류지는, 사가노에 있는 임제종의 선사로 교토고잔(교토의 임제종 5대 사찰) 중 하나. 1339년, 무로마치 막부를 세운 초대 장군 아시카가 타카우지가, 고다이고 천황를 애도하기 위하여 선승인 무소우 소세키를 불러와 창건했다. 장대한 가람의 조영을 위하여 아시카가 타카우지는 원나라(중국)와의 무역을 개시하고 그 이익을 비용으로 충당했다. 가람은 거듭된 전화로 인하여 소실되었으며, 현재의 것은 대부분이 메이지 시대(1868년-1912년)에 재건되었다. 경내는 약 30헥타르로 창건 때의 10분의 1정도의 넓이이다. 참배 시간은, 10월 21일부터 3월 20일까지는 30분 앞당겨진다.

Tenryū-ji

The temple was founded by Ashikaga Takauji in 1339, primarily to venerate Gautama Buddha, and its first chief priest was Musō Soseki. Construction was completed in 1345. As a temple related to both the Ashikaga family and Emperor Go-Daigo, the temple is held in high esteem, and is ranked number one among Kyoto's so-called Five Mountains. In 1994, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as part of the "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto
