얼음골

재약산(천황산) 북쪽 중턱의 높이 600~750m쯤 되는 곳의 골짜기 약 29,752m²(9천여평)을 얼음골이라고 한다. 봄부터 얼음이 얼었다가 처서가 지나야 녹는 곳이며, 반대로 겨울철에는 계곡물이 얼지 않고 오히려 더운 김이 오른다는 신비한 곳이다. 더위가 심할수록 바위 틈새에 얼음이 더 많이 얼고, 겨울에는 반팔을 입을 정도로 더운 김이 나 "밀양의 신비"라 불리며 천연기념물 224호로 지정, 보호하고 있다.

Eoreumgol (Ice Valley)

Just north of Cheonhwangsan Mountain (Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do), Eoreumgol Valley (Ice Valley) sits at an elevation between 600 and 750m and covers an area of 29,752m². Designated as Natural Monument No.224, the valley is unusual in that it begins to freeze in March when the weather becomes warm and thaws in the fall when the weather becomes cold. In the winter, the valley generates warm breezes and the water rarely freezes.
