화청지

중국에서 현존하는 최대 규모의 당나라 왕실 원림이다. 고대부터 수려한 풍경과 질 좋은 지하 온천수 때문에 역대 제왕들의 관심을 받아왔던 장소이다. 당 현종 천보년간에 건설한 궁전누각이 가장 화려하며 이때 정식으로 '화청궁(華淸宮)'이라는 이름으로 개명하였다. 당시(唐詩) 중에는 화청지에 대한 묘사가 포함되어 있는 시가 비일비재할 정도로 중요한 소재가 되기도 했다. 중앙구역에는 당 화청궁 어탕유적박물관이 있으며 연화탕, 해당탕, 태자탕, 상식탕, 성진탕 등의 당(唐)나라 때 현종과 양귀비가 온천을 즐기던 탕과 문물 진열실이 있다.

Huaqing Pool

Huaqing Pool or the Huaqing Hot Springs are a complex of hot springs located in an area characterized by mild weather and scenic views at the northern foot of Mount Li, one of the three major peaks of the Qin Mountains. The Huaqing Hot Springs are located approximately 25 km east of Xi'an, now in the province of Shaanxi, China. It was built in 723 by Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang dynasty as part of the Huaqing Palace, using the locally-occurring geothermal heating, and is famous as the supposed scene of Xuanzong's romance with his consort Yang Guifei.
