플랑탱 모레투스 박물관

플랑탱–모레투스 박물관은 옛 인쇄소이자 출판사로 그 기원은 르네상스 및 바로크 시대로 거슬러 올라간다. 이 박물관은 파리, 베네치아와 더불어 유럽의 인쇄 문화를 선도했던 3대 도시 중 하나인 안트베르펜에 있다. 박물관의 이름은 16세기 후반 안트베르펜에서 대규모 인쇄·출판 사업을 했던 크리스토프 플랑탱에서 따온 것이다. 독특한 건축적 가치가 있는 건물 안에는 16세기 후반 유럽 최대의 인쇄 및 출판사의 역사와 작품이 총망라되어 있다. 1867년까지 운영되었던 회사 건물에는 대규모의 오래된 인쇄 장비, 대규모의 도서관 및 귀중한 문서 보관소, 그리고 페테르 루벤스의 회화를 비롯한 예술 작품들이 있다.

Plantin-Moretus Museum

The Plantin-Moretus Museum is a printing plant and publishing house dating from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Situated in Antwerp, one of the three leading cities of early European printing along with Paris and Venice, it is associated with the history of the invention and spread of typography.
