국립 자연사 박물관

이 박물관을 다 관람하려면 반나절은 아껴두어야 한다. 박물관 내 정원에서 산책객이나 조깅하는 이들을 마주치는 건 이미 흔한 일. 세 개의 갤러리(식물, 비교 해부와 고생물학, 광물학과 지질학 갤러리)가 각각의 재미를 발산한다. 200여 종의 동물이 서식하는 동물원, 울창한 꽃이 맞아주는 대온실도 빼놓지 말고 방문해볼 것. 이 박물관의 자랑, 그랜드 진화 갤러리로 가서 박제가 된 수중 포유류, 코끼리, 기린, 얼룩말 등 거대한 육상 포유류 등 사이를 어슬렁거리며 관람을 마무리해보자.

National Museum of Natural History, France

The French National Museum of Natural History is the natural history museum of France and a grand établissement of Sorbonne Universities. The main museum is located in Paris, on the left bank of the Seine. It was established in 1635 by King Louis XIII as the royal garden of medicinal plants, and in 1793, after the Revolution, it was reorganized in its present form and under its present title. As of 2017, the museum has 14 sites throughout France, including the original location at the Jardin des Plantes, which remains one of the seven departments of MNHN.
