한국이민사박물관

요즘은 외국과 교류가 활발하지만 100여 년 전에는 이동 수단이 배뿐이라 외국과 교류하기가 힘들었다. 우리나라 첫 해상 교류의 중심지였던 인천은 첫 공식 이민의 출발지이기도 하다. 1902년 첫 공식 이민자가 하와이로 출항함으로써 한국의 이민사는 시작된다.

The Museum of Korea Emigration History

Interchange and interaction with foreign countries is very common these days. But 100 years ago, the only means was via ship, which presented difficulties for interaction with foreign countries. Incheon, which was at the center of marine interchange in Korea, was the first starting point of official emigration. Korea’s history of emigration finally starts with the first official emigrant to Hawaii who sailed there in 1902.
