홍콩컨벤션센터

홍콩섬의 주요 랜드마크인 홍콩컨벤션센터는 유리로 된 벽체와 40,000m² 규모의 알루미늄 지붕이 인상적이며, 전체적으로 갈매기가 날고 있는 듯한 형상을 하고 있다. 해안에 위치한 홍콩컨벤션센터(약자로 HKCEC)는 부족한 토지 문제를 해결하기 위해 하향식 건축 기술을 도입했고, 혁신적인 기술을 인정받아 여러 건축상을 수상했다. 홍콩컨벤션센터는 성룡이 출연한 '뉴 폴리스 스토리' 후반부에 등장한 바 있으며, 1997년 6월 30일 홍콩의 중국반환 기념행사도 이곳을 배경으로 진행됐다.
