9·11 테러는 약칭 9/11으로도 불리며, 2001년 9월 11일에 미국에서 발생했던 항공기 납치 동시다발 자살 테러이다. 이로 인해 뉴욕의 110층짜리 세계무역센터(WTC) 쌍둥이 빌딩이 붕괴되고 버지니아주 알링턴 군의 미국 국방부 펜타곤이 공격받아 일부가 파괴되었으며, 약 2996명의 사람이 사망하고 최소 6천명 이상의 부상자가 발생하였다.
