백야 김좌진장군 생가

독립운동가 김좌진 장군은 1905년 홍성에서 호명학교를 설립하였고, 1915년 광복 사건으로 3년간 옥살이를 했으며 청년학우회 회원, 한성일보 이사로 있다가 3. 1운동 때 만주로 건너가 북로 군정서를 조직, 총사령이 되었다. 1920년 일본군의 간담을 서늘하게 했던 청산리 싸움에서 이범석 등과 함께 일본군을 대파하고, 1925년 김혁과 함께 신민부를 조직, 총사령관이 되었으며 1930년 한족 총연합회를 조직, 주석에 취임하여 독립운동에 힘쓰던 중 공산.청년당원에 의해 살해되었다.

General Kim’s birthplace was where he was born and raised. Restoring this place started in 1991 and the construction was completed including a birthplace, a gate section house, a detached house, an administration office and an exhibition building.
