카오바오즈(烤包子)

바오즈는 뜨거운 중국 요리로 만두나 빵과 같이 속이 채워진 유형이다. 이의 만두 모양은 외관상 중국의 만두와 매우 흡사하다. 바오즈의 속은 고기와 야채로 채워진다. 중국의 문화상으로는 어느 시간 때에도 먹을 수 있지만, 흔히 아침으로 먹는다. 전설에 따르면 제갈량에 의해 발명되었다고 한다.

Kao Baozi

Baozi, or bao, is a type of filled bun or bread-like dumpling in various Chinese cuisines. There are many variations in fillings and preparations. In its bun-like aspect it is very similar to the traditional Chinese mantou. Two types are found in most parts of China and Indonesia: Dàbāo, measuring about 10 cm across, served individually, and usually purchased for take-away. The other type, Xiǎobāo (small bun), measure approximately 5 cm wide, and are most commonly eaten in restaurants, but may also be purchased for take-away.
