한국 전쟁은 1950년 6월 25일 새벽에 조선민주주의인민공화국이 대한민국을 침공하여 발발한 전쟁이다. 유엔군과 중국인민지원군 등이 참전하여 제3차 세계 대전으로 비화될 뻔 하였으나, 1953년 7월 27일에 체결된 한국휴전협정에 따라 일단락되었다.
