장 프랑수아 밀레 (1814-1875)

프랑스의 화가로, 프랑스의 한 지방에 위치한 바르비종파의 창립자들 중 한 사람이다. 그는 '이삭 줍기,' '만종,' '씨 뿌리는 사람' 등 농부들의 일상을 그린 작품으로 유명하며, 사실주의(Realism) 혹은 자연주의(Naturalism) 화가라 불리고 있다. 그는 데생과 동판화에도 뛰어나 많은 걸작품을 남겼다.
