장제스 (1887-1975)

장제스는 중화민국의 군인, 정치·군사 지도자이자, 중화민국 국민정부의 제2, 4대 총통 및 국부.천대 이후 제1, 3대 총통(재임 :1925.3.18 ~1975.4.5)이었다. 흔히 불리는 장개석의 "개석"는 바로 그의 자이며 "중정"은 그의 본명이다. 황푸군관학교 교장, 국민혁명군사령관, 중화민국 국민정부 주석, 중화민국 행정원장, 국민정부군사위원회위원장, 중국 국민당 총재, 삼민주의 청년단 단장 등을 역임하였다.

Chiang Kai-shek was a political and military leader who served as the leader of the Republic of China between 1928 and 1975, first in mainland China until 1949 and then in exile in Taiwan. He was recognized by much of the world as the head of the legitimate government of China until the late 1960s and early 1970s.
