과달루페 대성당

과달루페 대성당은 멕시코시티 북쪽에 있는 라빌라데과달루페에 위치한 가톨릭 성당이다. 동정녀 마리아에 봉헌된 곳이며, 2002년 로마 교황청은 중남미 지역의 대표적인 가톨릭 성지로 정식 공표하였다. 과달루페의 성모 성지에는 1695년에 지어지기 시작해 1709년에 완성된 옛 대성당과 1974년 착공해 1976년 10월 12일 축성 된 새로운 대성당이 나란히 있다.

Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a Roman Catholic church, basilica and National shrine of Mexico in the north of Mexico City. The shrine was built near the hill of Tepeyac where Our Lady of Guadalupe is believed to have appeared to Saint Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. This site is also known as La Villa de Guadalupe or, in a more popular sense, simply La Villa, as it has several churches and related buildings.
