시부사와 에이이치 (1840-1931)

시부사와 에이이치는 에도 시대 말기(막말)의 막신우로, 메이지 시대와 다이쇼 시대 초기의 대장성 관료이자 실업가이다. 일본 제1국립은행이나 오지 제지·일본 우선·도쿄 증권거래소 등 많고 다양한 기업의 설립과 경영에 관련돼, 일본 자본주의의 아버지로 불린다. 생전에는 일본 내각총리대신을 여러 번 지낸 이토 히로부미와 절친한 사이였다.

Shibusawa Eiichi (1840-1931)

Shibusawa Eiichi was a Japanese industrialist widely known today as the "father of Japanese capitalism". He spearheaded the introduction of Western capitalism to Japan after the Meiji Restoration. He introduced many economic reforms including use of double-entry accounting, joint-stock corporations and modern note-issuing banks.
