루이 파스퇴르는 프랑스의 생화학자이며 로베르트 코흐와 함께 세균학의 아버지로 불린다. 분자의 광학 이성질체를 발견했으며, 저온 살균법, 광견병, 닭 콜레라의 백신을 발명했다.
