한신 (B.C.231-B.C.196)

중국 초한쟁패기, 한나라 한고제 시대의 장군이자, 왕. 최고의 지휘관을 논할 때 빠지지 않는 불세출의 명장으로, 본래 하찮은 시정잡배에 지나지 않았지만 뒤늦게 유방에게 합류하여 뛰어난 재능을 인정받아 한의 대장군에 임명되었다. 이후, 백전백승의 천재 전략가로서 무수한 전공을 세워 제(齊)왕과 초(楚)왕의 자리까지 오른 입지전적인 인물이다.

Han Xin (B.C.231-B.C.196)

Han Xin was a military general who served Liu Bang during the Chu–Han Contention and contributed greatly to the founding of the Han dynasty. Han Xin was named as one of the "Three Heroes of the early Han dynasty", along with Zhang Liang and Xiao He. Han Xin is best remembered as a brilliant military leader for the strategies and tactics he employed in warfare, some of which became the origins of certain Chinese idioms. In recognition of Han Xin's contributions, Liu Bang conferred the titles of "King of Qi" on him in 203 BC and "King of Chu" in the following year.
