손자 (손무, BC.544-BC.496(470?))

춘추시대 오나라의 인물. 춘추시대 최고의 명장으로, 고대 동양 군사전략의 최고봉이자 당대 최고의 책략가이다. 제나라(齊) 낙안 출신이며, 그 유명한 손자병법 13편의 저자이다. 사기에 저술된 바로는 합려한테 그를 추천한 인물이 오자서인데, 이 시기를 기준으로 가늠한다면 후왕 부차가 공자의 부탁을 받은 제자 자공과 교류하였기에 나이가 많은 쪽으로 가정하더라도 공자와 비슷한 시대를 함께하였을 것으로 추측할 수 있다.

Sun Tzu may have been a Chinese military general, strategist, philosopher, and writer who lived during the Eastern Zhou period (771–256 BC). Sun Tzu is traditionally credited as the author of The Art of War, a Classical Chinese text on military strategy from the Warring States period, though the earliest parts of the work probably date to at least a century after his purported death.
