다코야키

타코야키를 개발한 것은 엔도우 토메키치라고 한다. 1933년 엔도씨는 물로 풀은 밀가루 안에 곤약과 파를 넣어 구운 '쵸보야키'라는 그 당시의 아이들의 간식이였던 요리와 근처에 있는 효고현의 아카시시의 명물요리인 계란물에 문어를 넣어 굽는 아카시야키를 섞어 몇 번의 개량을 거듭하여 속재료로 쓰이던 타코(문어)에서 이름을 따 '타코야키'라고 이름을 지었다. 만드는 것도 먹는 것도 쉬워 급속도로 널리 알려지며, 1955년에는 오오사카 시내의 타코야키점이 5000개가 넘는다는 말도 있었다고 한다.

Takoyaki

Takoyaki is a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special molded pan. It is typically filled with minced or diced octopus (tako), tempura scraps , pickled ginger, and green onion. Takoyaki are brushed with takoyaki sauce and mayonnaise, and then sprinkled with green laver and shavings of dried bonito.
