우서사건 기념공원

우서사건 기념공원은 1930년에 일어난 우서사건을 기념하는 난터우 현의 런아이에 있는 기념 공원이다.

Wushe Incident Memorial Park

The Wushe Incident Memorial Park is a memorial park in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, Taiwan commemorating the Musha incident in 1930. The park was set up by the government to commemorate the Seediq people who perished during the incident.

우서 사건 (1930.10)

우서 사건은 1930년 일본 제국의 타이완 통치 시대(대만일치시기)에 타이완 원주민이 일으킨 최대 규모의 봉기이다. 항쟁을 주도한 싸이더커족에 대한 일본 제국의 대량 학살로 끝났다. 사건의 발단은 일제 군경의 원주민에 대한 멸시가 원인이었다. 원주민은 반진 또는 세이반 등으로 불리며 보통 중국인에 비해 야만인 취급을 받고 있었다. 타이야족은 그들이 살고 있던 땅이 개발되면서 강제 이주 및 강제 노동을 강요당했는데, 이 때문에 일본 군경에 대한 원주민의 반감은 극에 달했다.

Musha incident (1930.10)

The Musha Incident, also known as the Wushe Rebellion and several other similar names, began in October 1930 and was the last major uprising against colonial Japanese forces in Japanese Taiwan. In response to long-term oppression by Japanese authorities, the Seediq indigenous group in Musha (Wushe) attacked the village, killing over 130 Japanese. In response, the Japanese led a relentless counter-attack, killing over 600 Seediq in retaliation.
