왓 수탓

왓 수탓은 라마 1세가 수코타이 왕조를 대표하는 황금불상을 안치하기 위해 건축한 왕실 사원이다. 라마1세, 라마2세, 라마3세를 거쳐 27년여만에 완공된 사원이자 태국의 6대 사원 중 하나이다. 본당에는 의문의 죽음을 맞은 라마 8세의 유해가 안치되어있다. 사원 가까이에는 힌두교 신도가 축제 때 사용하던 자이언트 스윙과 힌두사원이 있다.

Wat Suthat

Wat Suthat Thepphawararam is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand. It is a royal temple of the first grade, one of ten such temples in Bangkok (23 in Thailand). Construction was begun by King Rama I in 2350 BE (1807 CE). Further construction and decorations were carried out by King Rama II who helped carve the wooden doors, but the temple was not completed until the reign of King Rama III in 2390 BE (1847–1848 CE).
