스탈린그라드 전투

스탈린그라드 전투는 1942년 8월 21일부터 1943년 2월 2일까지 스탈린그라드 시내와 근방에서 소련군과 추축군 간에 벌어진 전투를 말한다. 이 전투는 제2차 세계大전의 가장 중요한 전환점이었다. 이 전투에서 약 200만 명이 죽거나 다쳤으며, 인간사에서 가장 참혹한 전투로 기록되고 있다. 이 전투는 독일 제6군과 다른 추축국 군대의 스탈린그라드 포위와 이후의 소련군의 반격으로 이루어져 있다.

Battle of Stalingrad

The Battle of Stalingrad (23 August 1942 – 2 February 1943) was the largest confrontation of World War II, in which Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad in Southern Russia. Marked by fierce close quarters combat and direct assaults on civilians in air raids, it was the largest (nearly 2.2 million personnel) and bloodiest (1.8–2 million killed, wounded or captured) battle in the history of warfare.
