표트르 차이콥스키 (1840-1893)

표트르 일리치 차이콥스키는 낭만주의 시대의 러시아 제국의 작곡가, 지휘자이다. 백조의 호수와 호두까기 인형, 비창 교향곡의 작곡자이다. 그의 작품은 선율적 영감과 관현악법에 뛰어났다는 평가를 받는다. 1860년대에는 러시아의 민족주의 음악파인 러시아 5인조의 지도자 밀리 발라키레프와 교제하여 국민악파 음악의 영향을 받았으나 후반에는 낭만주의 경향의 곡을 작곡하였으며 베토벤, 슈베르트의 전통을 러시아로 확산시켰다.
