카카두 국립공원

이곳은 호주 최대의 국립공원으로, 험준한 절벽과 울창한 우림, 역사가5만년 전으로 거슬러 올라가는 암벽화 등 다양한 자연 경관을 자랑한다. 습지에 찾아드는 수 없이 많은 철새들과 섬세한 수선화와 태고적 모습 그대로인 악어, 천둥소리를 내며 떨어져 내리는 폭포등이 있다.

Kakadu National Park

Kakadu National Park is a protected area in the Northern Territory of Australia, 171 km southeast of Darwin. The park is located within the Alligator Rivers Region of the Northern Territory. It covers an area of 19,804 km2 (7,646 sq mi), extending nearly 200 kilometres from north to south and over 100 kilometres from east to west.

바다악어

바다악어는 몸길이 6~7m 이상, 몸무게는 1톤이 넘는다. 바다악어는 현존하는 파충류 중 제일 크고, 힘도 세다. 푸른바다거북과 함께 대표적인 해양 파충류이며 인도악어또는 하구악어라고도 한다. 악력은 최대 3톤에 이른다. 보통 대부분이 강이나 호수에서 서식하지만 소금을 내보낼 수 있어 바다에서 생활하기도 알맞다.

Saltwater crocodile

The saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus), also known as the estuarine crocodile, Indo-Pacific crocodile, marine crocodile, sea crocodile or informally as saltie, is the largest of all living reptiles, as well as the largest riparian predator in the world. Males of this species can reach sizes up to 6.30 m (20.7 ft) and possibly up to 7.0 m (23.0 ft) in length.
