파야스 축제

‘파야스 축제’는 발렌시아의 공동체들과 이 지역 출신 이주민들에 의해 개최되는 전통적인 봄맞이 축하 축제이다. 이 축제의 주인공인 ‘파야(falla, 커다란 인형)’는 지역의 장인과 공예인들이 사회적 현안을 풍자적으로 묘사하여 만든 여러 개의 ‘니노트(ninot, 익살스런 성격의 형상)’로 이루어진 거대한 구조물이다. 

Las Fallas Festival

The Falles is a traditional celebration held in commemoration of Saint Joseph in the city of Valencia, Spain. The term Falles refers to both the celebration and the monuments burnt during the celebration. A number of towns in the Valencian Community have similar celebrations inspired by the original Falles de València celebration.
