카스 고성

카슈가르 고성은 "카슈가르에 가지 않으면 신장에 간 것이 아니고, 고성에 가지 않으면 카슈가르에 간 것이 아니다"라는 말이 있을 정도로 신장 위구르 여행의 정수이자 영혼과도 같은 곳이다. 2,000년 이상의 역사를 가진 이곳은 고대 실크로드의 교차로로서 동서양의 문화가 황금빛 흙벽 사이로 녹아들어 있다. 현대적인 도시 한가운데 섬처럼 떠 있는 이 구역은 중앙아시아 특유의 이국적인 풍경을 간직하고 있으며 미로처럼 얽힌 좁은 골목길, 화려하게 조각된 나무문, 그리고 흙벽돌로 지어진 전통 가옥들이 독특한 정취를 자아낸다. 바닥에 깔린 벽돌 모양으로 길을 찾을 수 있는데 육각형 벽돌은 뚫려 있는 길을, 사각형 벽돌은 막다른 길을 의미한다. 길을 잃어도 그 자체로 여행이 되는 매력적인 곳이다.

Ancient City of Kashi

Kashgar is a bustling city and a place where cultures meet. kashgar-old-town.jpgThe city center of Kashgar covers an area of 4.25 square kilometers and has about 126,800 residents. In the center of Kashgar, there is an old town- Kashgar Old Town, which has a history of more than 2,000 years and is like a vivid scroll of Xinjiang Uighur folk custom. The Old Town is crisscrossed with streets and lanes, with flexible layout and winding paths. Most of the residential buildings are civil, brick and wood structures. Many of the traditional residential buildings have a history of hundreds of years, making it the only labyrinth urban block featured by Islamic culture in China.
