잔다르 만타르

잔다르 만타르는 인도 뉴델리에 있는 천문대로 인도에서 가장 오래된 천문 관측 기구이며, 자이푸르의 마하라자이자 천문학자였던 자이싱 2세가 1725년에 세운 천문대이다. 델리 외에 다른 지역에도 여러 곳 있다.

Jantar Mantar, New Delhi

Jantar Mantar is located in the modern city of New Delhi. It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments. The site is one of five built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur, from 1723 onwards, as he was given by Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah the task of revising the calendar and astronomical tables.
