김유정 문학촌

춘천 실레마을에서 태어난 김유정은 줄곧 경성에서 자라고 생활하다 1931년에 23살의 나이로 귀향한다. 금병의숙이라는 일종의 야학을 설립하여 농촌계몽운동을 벌이던 그가 처녀작인 <산골 나그네>를 발표 한 것은 2년 후인 1933년. 실레마을에서 실제로 목격한 일을 소재로 활용한 처녀작 이후로도 김유정 소설의 대부분이 실레마을에서 구상되었고 작품의 등장인물도 상당수가 이곳에 실존했던 인물들이었다.

Kim Yujeong Literature Village

Known as one of Korea’s leading short story novelists, Kim You-jeong was born in Sille Village in Sindong-myeong, Chuncheon. A restoration of his birth house, the Kim You-jeong House of Literature is part of an effort to turn the whole village into a literature village in honor of the novelist. The house has an exhibition hall, a walking path, and a hiking trail.
