황석채

삼림공원 서부에 있으며, 장가계의 5경구 중 하나로, 웅장함을 대표하는 곳이다. 한(漢)나라 장량(張良)이 은거하며 괴로운 시절을 보낼 때 사부인 황석공에 의해 구출되었다고 해서 “황석채”라는 지명이 붙여졌다고 한다. 해발 높이가 1080m이고, 장가계 삼림공원에서 가장 크고 활성화 되어 있는 관광코스이며, 볼 만한 관광지 20여 곳이 산재해 있다. “황석채를 보지 않았다면 장가계에 잘 못 온 것이다(不上黄石寨，枉到张家界)”라는 말이 있을 정도로 자연풍경이 보는 이를 압도한다. 높은 구릉과 뾰족한 산이 만들어내는 자연환경은 한국에서 볼 수 없는 독특한 풍경을 만들어 낸다.
