두보 (712-770)

두보는 중국 당나라 때의 시인이다. 자는 자미 호는 소릉야로. 중국 고대 시에 지대한 영향을 미쳐 시성이라 부르며, 그의 작품은 시사라 부른다. 이백과 함께 이두라고도 일컬으며, 그 당시 정의가 없는 경제구조로 고통받는 민중들의 고단한 삶을 시로 묘사한 민중시인이다.

Du Fu

Du Fu was a prominent Chinese poet of the Tang dynasty. Along with Li Bai, he is frequently called the greatest of the Chinese poets. His greatest ambition was to serve his country as a successful civil servant, but he proved unable to make the necessary accommodations. His life, like the whole country, was devastated by the An Lushan Rebellion of 755, and his last 15 years were a time of almost constant unrest.

두보초당

두보 초당 박물관은 성도시 서쪽 교외의 완화계곡 주변에 위치하여 있으며, 중국 당 시기 위대한 시인인 두보가 성도에서 머무를때 사용했던 생가이다. 또한 현존하는 두보의 유적 중 가장 특이하고 유명한 곳이기도 하다.

Du Fu Thatched Cottage

In 759 Du Fu moved to Chengdu, built a thatched hut near the Flower Rinsing Creek and lived there for four years. The "thatched hut" period was the peak of Du Fu's creativity, during which he wrote two hundred and forty poems, among them "My Thatched Hut was torn apart by Autumn Wind" and "The Prime Minister of Shu". Du Fu Thatched Cottage is now a popular destination for Du Fu enthusiasts around the world to pay tribute to the poet.
