에트나산

이탈리아 시칠리아섬의 상징인 에트나산은 약 3,357m(분화 때마다 변함)로 알프스 이남 이탈리아에서 가장 높은 봉우리로 2013년 유네스코 세계자연유산으로 등재되었다. 기원전 1500년부터 기록된 폭발 역사를 가지고 있어 세계에서 가장 연구가 많이 된 화산 중 하나다. 화산재로 비옥해진 토양 덕분에 산기슭에는 포도밭과 과수원이 많으며, 여기서 생산되는 '에트나 와인'은 독특한 풍미로 유명하다.

Mount Etna (3,350m)

Mount Etna is an active stratovolcano on the east coast of Sicily, Italy, in the Metropolitan City of Catania, between the cities of Messina and Catania. It lies above the convergent plate margin between the African Plate and the Eurasian Plate. It is the highest active volcano in Europe outside the Caucasus.
