레고랜드(빌룬)

레고랜드 빌룬 리조트는 1968년 세계 최초로 문을 연 레고랜드의 본점으로 레고 그룹의 본사가 있는 빌룬에 세워진 만큼 전 세계 레고 팬들에게는 성지와도 같은 곳이다. 미니랜드는 레고랜드의 심장부로 2천만 개 이상의 레고 브릭을 사용해 세계적인 랜드마크와 덴마크의 마을들을 정교하게 재현했다. 운하 위를 움직이는 배와 기차 등 생동감 넘치는 미니어처 세상을 만날 수 있다. 아찔한 롤러코스터가 있는 나이츠 킹덤, 닌자고 세상을 체험하는 닌자고 월드, 해적선을 타고 물놀이를 즐기는 피리이트 랜드 등 아이부터 어른까지 즐길 수 있는 50여 개의 놀이기구가 있다. 레고랜드 근처에는 '홈 오브 더 브릭'이라 불리는 레고 하우스에는 직접 레고를 조립하고 창의력을 발휘하는 체험형 전시관으로 레고랜드와 함께 방문하기 좋다.

Legoland Billund Resort

Legoland Billund Resort, the original Legoland park, opened on 7 June 1968 in Billund, Denmark. The park is located next to the original Lego factory and Billund Airport, Denmark's second-busiest airport. Over 1.9 million guests visited the park in 2011, and since the opening more than 50 million guests have visited the park. This makes Legoland the largest tourist attraction in Denmark outside Copenhagen. The Legoland parks that have since been built are modelled upon Legoland Billund, most noticeably the Miniland area, which is made up of millions of plastic Lego bricks.

레고는 1932년에 덴마크의 목수 올레 키르크 크리스티안센이 조립식 블럭 제품을 내놓게 된 것이 그 시초다. 이름의 유래는 덴마크어로 '재미있게 놀다'라는 뜻을 가진 'LEG GODT'를 줄인 것이며, 회사 이름인 동시에 완구 이름이기도 하다. 초기에는 나무를 깎아 블럭을 제작했으나 1940년대에 플라스틱을 이용한 대량 생산이 가능해지면서, 블럭 완구 계열에서 지금과 같은 독보적인 위치에 오르게 되었다. 지금과 같은 형태의 블럭은 올레 키르크 크리스티얀센의 아들 고트프레드가 고안했다.

Lego

Lego is a line of plastic construction toys that are manufactured by The Lego Group, a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. The company's flagship product, Lego, consists of variously coloured interlocking plastic bricks accompanying an array of gears, figurines called minifigures, and various other parts. Lego pieces can be assembled and connected in many ways to construct objects, including vehicles, buildings, and working robots. Anything constructed can be taken apart again, and the pieces reused to make new things.
