성왕 (504-554)
성왕은 백제의 제26대 왕으로 재위 기간은 523~554년이며 무령왕의 아들로 즉위했다. 사비로 도읍을 옮기고 국호를 남부여로 바꾸면서 백제의 중흥을 알렸다. 천도 후에는 대대적으로 국가체제를 정비하였고, 중국 양조와 왜와도 활발히 교류하였다. 신라 진흥왕과 연합하여 한강 유역을 수복했으나 진흥왕의 배신으로 다시 상실했다. 이에 다시 신라와 싸우던 중 관산성 전투에서 신라 복병의 기습을 받아 전사했다.
Seong of Baekje (504-554)
Seon was the 26th king of Baekje, one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea. He was a son of Muryeong of Baekje and is best known for making Buddhism the state religion, moving the national capital to Sabi (present-day Buyeo County), and reclaiming the center of the Korean Peninsula. His demise eventually came at the hands of an ally who betrayed him.
