프랑스 대혁명

프랑스 혁명(1789년 7월 14일~1794년 7월 27일)은 프랑스에서 일어난 자유주의 혁명이다. 프랑스 혁명은 엄밀히 말해 1830년 7월 혁명과 1848년 2월 혁명을 함께 일컫는 말이지만, 대개는 1789년의 혁명만을 가리킨다. 이때 1789년의 혁명을 다른 두 혁명과 비교하여 프랑스 대혁명이라고 부르기도 한다.

The French Revolution was a period of far-reaching social and political upheaval in France and its colonies that lasted from 1789 until 1799. It was partially carried forward by Napoleon during the later expansion of the French Empire.

7월 혁명

1830년 샤를 10세는 해외 원정을 단행하여 군사력을 과시하는 한편 왕권을 강화하려는 목적으로 알제리로 출병했다. 이는 국회의원 선거를 노린 시위이기도 했으나, 그럼에도 새로 선출된 의원은 반대파가 압도적이었다. 이에 그는 아직 소집되지 않은 의회를 해산시키고 투표권 대상자를 더욱 제한하는 새 선거법을 도입해 재선거를 치루려 했다.

July Revolution

The French Revolution of 1830, also known as the July Revolution, Second French Revolution or Trois Glorieuses in French, led to the overthrow of King Charles X, the French Bourbon monarch, and the ascent of his cousin Louis Philippe, Duke of Orléans, who himself, after 18 precarious years on the throne, would be overthrown in 1848.

6월 봉기

6월 봉기 혹은 1832년의 파리 봉기는 1832년 6월 5일부터 6월 6일까지 파리에서 군주제 폐지를 기치로 일어난 항쟁이다. 7월 혁명으로 세워진 루이 필리프의 7월 왕정에 불만을 품고 있던 공화주의자들은, 국왕의 유력한 조력자이자 추밀원 의장인 카지미르 피에르 페리에가 5월 16일에 사망하고, 뒤이어 나폴레옹 휘하의 장군이자 자유주의 정치가인 장 막시밀리앙 라마르크가 6월 1일에 사망한 것을 계기로 봉기를 일으켰으나 실패로 끝나고 말았다.

June Rebellion

The June Rebellion or the Paris Uprising of 1832, was an anti-monarchist insurrection of Parisian republicans on 5 and 6 June 1832. The rebellion originated in an attempt by the Republicans to reverse the establishment in 1830 of the July Monarchy of Louis-Philippe, shortly after the death of the King's powerful supporter President of the Council Casimir Pierre Périer on 16 May 1832.

2월 혁명

프랑스 2월 혁명은 1848년 혁명의 한 흐름으로 프랑스에서 1848년 2월 22일에서 24일에 걸쳐 일어난 사건이다. 의회 내 반대파가 일으켰으며, 이 사건으로 루이 필리프의 7월 왕정이 해산하고 프랑스 제2공화국이 성립하였다.
