오메기떡

오메기떡은 제주도의 특산품으로 제주도에서 생산되는 차조를 주재료로 하는데, 이 차조를 익반죽하여 끓는 물에 삶아내 만드는 떡이다. 차조와 쑥과 찹쌀로 만든 떡에 팥소를 넣고 팥고물로 둘러서 쑥과 팥의 혼종 떡을 만들어놓고 오메기떡이라고 많이들 파는데 이것은 진짜 오메기떡이 아니다. 여담으로 오메기떡을 오메기떡 삶은 물을 흘려 넣고 짓이긴 뒤 누룩을 부수어 넣고 발효시키면 오메기술이 된다.

Omegi-tteok

Omegi Tteok is a type of tteok (Korean rice cakes) particular to the region of the Jeju Island, the largest island of the Korean Peninsula. Its traditional form is actually a by-product of the process of making omegi sul. The modern form of omegi tteok uses entirely different ingredients and is only packaged and marketed as "traditional" mainly to be sold as a regional specialty snack for visitors. It is now one of the best selling souvenirs among the tourists in Jeju Island.
