오줌싸개 동상

1619년 제롬 듀케뉴아가 만든 높이 약 60cm의 청동상이다. 여러 차례 도난 당하는 수난을 겪었고, 현재 설치되어 있는 동상은 1965년 복제본이다. 원래의 동상은 그랑플라스의 브뤼셀 시 박물관에 보관되어 있다. 이 동상의 유래에는 여러 설이 있는데, 14세기에 프라방드 제후의 왕자가 오줌을 누어 적군을 모욕했다는 설이 유명하다. 현재 세계 각국으로부터 옷을 보내어 옷을 입혀놓는 퍼포먼스를 벌이기도 한다.

Manneken Pis

Manneken Pis is a landmark 55.5cm bronze fountain sculpture in central Brussels, Belgium, depicting a puer mingens or naked little boy urinating into the fountain's basin. Though its existence is attested as early as the 15th century, it was designed in its current form by the Brabantine sculptor Jérôme Duquesnoy the Elder and put in place in 1618 or 1619.
