나시고렝

나시고렝은 동남아시아 지역에 널리 퍼져 있는 볶음밥 요리이다. 말레이인도네시아어로 나시는 '밥', 고렝은 '튀긴다', '볶는다'는 의미이다. 덥고 습한 기후 특성상 밥이 일찍 쉬는 것을 막기 위한 보존식으로 등장하였으며, 미리 음식을 한 상 차려놓는 식문화를 반영하여 만들어졌다. 볶음밥과 다른 점은 콩의 일종인 타마린드와 단맛 나는 간장인 크찹 마니스, 삼발이라는 인도네시아식 핫소스로 요리한다는 것이다.

Nasi Goreng

Nasi goreng, literally meaning "fried rice" in both the Indonesian and Malay languages, is an Indonesian rice dish with pieces of meat and vegetables added. It can refer simply to fried pre-cooked rice, a meal including stir fried rice in a small amount of cooking oil or margarine, typically spiced with kecap manis (sweet soy sauce), shallot, garlic, ground shrimp paste, tamarind and chilli and accompanied by other ingredients, particularly egg, chicken and prawns.
