시안성벽
시안 성벽은 중국에서 가장 잘 보존된 고대 성벽 중 하나로 시안 시내 중심을 사각형 모양으로 감싸고 있는 거대한 건축물로 명나라 때 축조되었으며, 당나라 장안성 성벽의 토대를 바탕으로 세워졌다. 높이는 약 12m, 폭은 아래쪽이 18m, 위쪽이 15m에 달해 성벽 위로 마차가 지나갈 수 있을 만큼 넓다. 전체 길이는 약 13.7km이며, 동서남북 네 방향에 커다란 성문이 있습니다. 특히 남문(영녕문)이 가장 화려하고 행사도 많이 열린다. 성벽 주변에는 적의 접근을 막는 해자와 옹성, 망루 등이 완벽하게 갖춰져 있어 고대 요새의 위용을 그대로 느낄 수 있다.

The fortifications of Xi'an, also known as Xi'an City Wall, in Xi'an, represent one of the oldest, largest and best preserved Chinese city walls. It was built under the rule of the Hongwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang as a military defense system. It exhibits the "complete features of the rampart architecture of feudal society". It has been refurbished many times since it was built in the 14th century, thrice at intervals of about 200 years in the later half of the 1500s and 1700s, and in recent years in 1983.
