1989년 톈안먼 사건 (1989.6.4)

톈안먼 사건, 제3차 천안문 사태, 또는 6·4 사건은 1989년 6월 4일, 후야오방의 사망 이후 발생한 톈안먼 광장 등지에서 시위대와 인민이 벌인 반정부 시위를 중화인민공화국의 중국 공산당 정부가 유혈 진압한 사건이다. 중화인민공화국 정부는 일반적으로 이 사건을 1989년 춘하계 정치풍파라 지칭하는 반면, 비판적인 반체제 세력 및 서방세계에서는 톈안먼 광장 저항시위 또는 톈안먼 광장 도살, 89년 민주운동이라고 칭한다.

The Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, commonly known in mainland China as the June Fourth Incident, were student-led demonstrations in Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China, in 1989. More broadly, it refers to the popular national movement inspired by the Beijing protests during that period, sometimes called the '89 Democracy Movement.
