월터 스콧 (1771년~1832년)

제1대 스콧 준남작 월터 스콧은 영국의 시인이자 소설가이다. 그는 영국 낭만주의 소설을 대표하며, 대중적인 성격으로서 소설을 대중의 것으로 만들고, 서로 패권을 다투는 역사적 사회 소설의 창시자가 되었다.

Scott Monument

The Scott Monument is a Victorian Gothic monument to Scottish author Sir Walter Scott. It is the second largest monument to a writer in the world after the José Martí monument in Havana.[1] It stands in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, opposite the Jenners department store on Princes Street and near to Edinburgh Waverley Railway Station, which is named after Scott's Waverley novels.
