짜장면 박물관

인천의 개항 이후 중국인의 청국조계지 설정으로 자연스럽게 차이나타운 일대에 중국요리집이 생겨나기 시작했다. 인근 인천항에서 일하던 부두 노동자들이 중국요리집을 자주 찾게 되면서 값싸고 손쉽게 먹을 수 있는 짜장면을 개발하게 되었다. 중국된장인 미옌장을 비벼 먹는 작장면과 달리 한국인의 입맛에 맞게 달콤한 캐러멜을 첨가하고 물기를 적당히 유지하게 만들었다. 곧바로 폭발적인 인기를 얻어 짜장면은 대표적인 한국음식으로 자리매김하였다.

Jjajangmyeon Museum (Black Noodle)

Due to the establishment of the Qing Dynasty Concession after the opening of the port, Chinese restaurants sprung up around Chinatown. The port laborers that worked near Incheon port visited the Chinese restaurants more often; so, the restaurants developed black noodles that are easy to eat and inexpensive.

짜장면

짜장면은 양파, 양배추 등 채소와 돼지고기에 춘장을 넣어 식용유와 함께 볶은 양념을 굵은 국수에 비벼서 먹는 한국식 중국 요리이다. 중국의 산둥 반도 지역의 가정식이었던 작장면이 한국인의 입맛에 맞게 변하여 만들어진 음식이다.

Jjajangmyeon (Black Noodle)

Jajangmyeon is a Chinese Korean noodle dish topped with a thick sauce made of chunjang, diced pork, and vegetables. A variant of the dish uses seafood.
