병천순대거리

시골과 도시를 막론하고 허기진 배를 저렴한 가격에 채울 수 있는 순대국밥은 누구에게나 사랑받는 메뉴다. 추운날, 술 한잔이라도 걸칠라면 뜨끈한 순대국밥이 먼저 떠오르는 매니아들에게 천안의 아우내(병천)장터는 천국이다. 아우내 장터에는 현재 20곳에 달하는 순대식당들이 제각기 맛과 양을 자부하고 있다. 1968년 이전에는 장터가 열리는 날에만 순대국밥을 팔다가 1968년부터 자리를 잡고 순대국밥을 팔기 시작했다. 아우내 장터가 지금과 같은 모습을 갖추기 시작한 것은 1990년대 초반이다.

Byeongcheon Sundae Street

There is a famous sundae (Korean sausage) street situated near the Aunae (Byeongcheon) Market, where patriotic martyr Yu Gwan-sun led an independence movement. With the establishment of ham manufacture plant near Byeongcheon in the 1960s, people in the area begun making sausages using vegetables and pork byproducts such as intestines and clotted blood, and a couple of sundae restaurants began springing up along this street.
